Farside Accounting

Bookkeeping services for UK businesses and accounting practices

Opening soon. Farside Accounting Ltd's registration with HMRC for anti-money-laundering supervision is in progress. We are happy to talk now, and will take on client work once that registration is confirmed.

Transactions coded, bank accounts reconciled and an exceptions list sent back on the cycle you set, weekly or monthly. We keep the books for UK businesses directly, and we do the same work behind the scenes for accounting practices.

Figures checked against GOV.UK on 14 October 2026. General information, not advice.

Bookkeeping for your business

What we do
Code every transaction, reconcile each bank, card and loan account, and chase anything we can't match. We list it once, in one place.
What you get back
A reconciled ledger, an exceptions list, and management accounts if you want them.
Who it suits
Limited companies, sole traders, landlords and charities who would rather not spend evenings in the ledger.
Your software
Xero first. We're also comfortable in FreeAgent, QuickBooks Online and Sage, with Dext for receipts.

Outsourced bookkeeping for accounting firms

How it works
You give us access to your client's ledger and we process, reconcile and review it to a checklist. The client relationship stays entirely yours.
What you get back
A reconciled ledger and an exceptions list for you to raise with your client. We never contact them unless you ask.
Who signs off
You do, always. We're the production layer behind the practice, not a replacement for it.

Who does what is set out in full on our services page.

Why reconciled books matter at year end

VAT
A VAT return is only as good as the ledger behind it. Under Making Tax Digital, every VAT-registered business keeps digital records.
Accounts and tax
Annual accounts and the corporation tax return are built from the year's books. If the bank was reconciled every month, year end becomes review work instead of clean-up.
MTD for Income Tax
Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £30,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates from 6 April 2027.

Common questions

Do you do bookkeeping for small businesses?

Yes. Limited companies, sole traders, landlords and charities, weekly or monthly. Every file is checked by a named reviewer before it comes back.

Can an accounting practice outsource bookkeeping to you?

Yes. We work under your engagement letter, on your clients' ledgers, and return the work to you for sign-off. We have no contact with your client unless you ask for it.

Which bookkeeping software do you use?

Xero first, plus FreeAgent, QuickBooks Online and Sage. We work in your existing setup rather than moving you.
